Unit 14 Section 5 : Time Problems in Context
In this section we look at further problems involving time, travel and also rates of pay.
Look at the timetable below which gives the times of buses between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
We can use it to work out the length of particular journeys.
One of the buses leaves Glasgow at 1530. We want to work out how long it will take to get to Eurocentral.
From 1530 to 1550 is 20 minutes.
Another bus leaves Ratho at 1547 to arrive in Edinburgh Haymarket at 1603. We want to know how long this journey is.
From 1547 to 1600 is 13 minutes, and from 1600 to 1603 is 3 minutes, so the total is 16 minutes.
